Seminole Pumpkin
Here are two large Seminole Pumpkins from our in-ground garden! The larger is nearing 4 lbs. The vines are still strong and producing with another 3 or 4 good size pumpkins almost ready to pick, but it’s also a good idea to start a couple of new seed mounds so that by the time the old vines are ready to retire the new ones will be blossoming thus keeping a constant supply of delicious sweet pumpkin. Seminole Pumpkins can be grown all year long in Florida with only a few pests. Occasionally, worms can be found inside the buds. You can tell which buds are infested because they’ll have a small hole on the side. You could treat by spraying with Naturalyte or Thuricide BT (both products are considered to be safe for your vegetable garden), or you can just pick off the infested buds and crush them along with the worm inside.
